Yes! For your convenience, Donsdale Dental accepts all national insurance plans, and we are pleased to offer Direct Billing (also called Assignment of Benefits), which means that we file your insurance claim electronically, if your insurance company permits it, and you will pay only the remaining balance, if there is any.

Yes! Donsdale Dental is pleased to follow the latest Alberta Dental Association Fee Guide.

Benefits change from time to time, so it is important to make sure you know what your plan covers. As a result, we cannot provide you with a guaranteed estimate unless we have submitted a pre-treatment estimate before your treatment.

A Pre-Treatment Estimate gives you the approximate cost of the treatment. Upon request, we will file all the necessary paperwork with your insurance provider before any work is done. While this may delay your treatment, you will know what (if any) out-of-pocket costs you may be required to pay.

We require payment in full at the time of treatment for non-assignment or non-insurance claims. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Interac (Debit). However, a payment plan may be arranged if discussed in advance with our administrative staff.

Donsdale Dental is happy to put together a detailed treatment plan with the associated costs clearly outlined so that you can budget for each appointment accordingly. We can also rank treatments so that you can deal with the most pressing treatments right away, and deal with the not-so-pressing treatments over time.

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.

Donsdale Dental is pleased to offer in-office professional whitening, as well as custom made take-home whitening kits, which consist of custom-made trays and a bleaching kit that you can use at your convenience at home. We also provide complimentary pre-made mini-take home whitening kits for all new patients and for those would like to freshen up their smiles at their annual recall visit. For more information about our teeth whitening services, please contact our office at (780) 760-4000.

If your child’s tooth is knocked out, please contact us immediately at (780) 760-4000. In order to save the tooth, it must be put back in its socket as soon as possible (2 hours is the outer limit for survival). Please follow the following suggestions:

  • Rinse off the tooth with saliva or water. Do not scrub the tooth
  • Replace it in the socket facing the correct way and press down on the tooth with your thumb until the crown is level with the adjacent tooth.
  • Lastly, bite down on a wad of cloth to stabilize the tooth until you can be seen by a dentist.

If this is not possible, place the tooth in a glass of milk until you can get to our office. It is very important to keep the tooth moist. Do not let it dry out! Please contact us immediately!

During business hours, contact our dental office at (780) 760-4000 to be seen as soon as possible. If your dental emergency occurs after our office is closed, call our main phone line to receive our after-hours phone number. One of our dentists will promptly return your call and arrange to see you if needed.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment with us, we require 2 business days notice whenever possible. This allows us to use that time to see other patients that require our expertise. Short notice cancellations or no-show appointments may carry a $75 fee.

Digital x-rays are instant, so you no longer have to wait the 5 minutes it takes traditional x-ray to develop. Most importantly, digital x-rays produce about 90% less radiation than the traditional method.
